1. The domain name should have the keyword.

2. The content should fluently use the keywords.

3. The page tile should include the keyword. Targeted titles always yield better results.

4. Get inbound links to your website by directory submission - Submit your website to web directories.

5. Exchange links with similar websites.

6. Avoid too many ads in the beginning.

7. Use a primary and a secondary keyword in your pagewords should be two to five word phrases.

8. ‘Free’ is a selling keyword.

9. Link building is the most important part of search engine optimization.

10. The page title could use two overlaying ideas for a name.

11. Check your pages for broken links at least every month.

12. Add links to others useful sites and articles.

13. Include a sitemap for your website.

14. Have one html Header H1 with keywords, then have couple of H2s which are more specific but which have some keywords from H1.

15 write article and submit to article directories.

16 Use public domain content and PLR (private label rights) resources for building your content to save time. It is nonetheless always best to write unique content with your personal touch.

17 Do a press release to promote your website.

18 Participate in forums and leave links to your site in your signature.
