Care during Pregnancy

Care during Pregnancy -
Don’t stay in one position for long periods. Raise your legs and feet.Wear comfortable, low-heeled footware.Drink 2-2.5 ltrs of fluid daily and add high fibre food to your diet. This also helps to avoid constipation, a common problem during pregnancy. Exercise regularly at least 3-4 times a week.Rather than having a few large/heavy meals, eat several short meals .Avoid sudden and jerky movemenets and support your abdomen whenever needed.Wear clothes that are comfortable and lose. Try relaxation exercises.Some Dos and Don’ts during   -Follow regular exercise, rest and dietary pattern.Do not drink or smoke during pregnanacy or while breast feeding.

Do not have X-Rays done on yourself or accompany anyone having X-Ray done.

Do not have medicines without prescription.

Avoid oily, sugary, too salty food.

Dietary Tips during pregnancy -

You need to take a balanced diet with adequate quantities of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, fibre and minerals. Small frequent meals and upto 3 ltrs of water perday.

Proteins rich food: eggs, dal, fish, meat, chicken

Carbohydrates rich food: rice, chappati, bread, cereals

Fats: Little ghee on chappati, cooking oil, butter on your bread

Vitamins: fruit, vegetables, fresh unsweetened juice

Iron and Calcium: Iron and calcium tablets , green vegetables, beetroot, methi, jaggery, 3-4 almonds/day, 5-6 black raisins/day, milk, buttermilk
